About City Tax

City Tax is managed by Karl Stand who graduated from Imperial College London, in 1997, and first worked for Price Waterhouse (now PWC) in Warsaw, in their Corporate Tax & Legal department. 

He later returned to the UK to work as a trainee for BDO Stoy Hayward London, in their corporate tax & private client team. BDO, then a "top 6" firm, gave him contact and exposure to a variety of clients and technical work, ranging from corporate multi-national executives to director owner managers, from retired individuals with pensions and investments to younger small business owners & start-ups.

After three years at BDO he moved to Coutts & Co private banking on the Strand. There he worked with a variety of clients that included, investors and professionals, Queen’s Counsel barristers and the judiciary, doctors, present and retired FTSE 100 CEO’s & directors, lottery winners, entrepreneurs, trusts, landlords, small businesses.

With almost twenty-five years of experience to hand, Karl is qualified to give tax advice no matter how large or small. He became a fellow of the Association of Taxation Technicians in 2016, a professional body associated with the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
